沒有太多模稜兩可的暗喻但查了不少專有名詞資料...
這首歌除了較顯而易見同時也是Lana作品中常出現的蘿莉塔母題之外滿多人覺得Off to the Races描述的很像執迷Joker的小丑女
不過我個人覺得很像在我看過的多部好萊塢電影中那種罪犯在逃亡的路上遇到瘋瘋癲癲的脫衣舞孃最後變成戀人一起亡命天涯的故事（可惜可能為了符合教化大眾的任務通常到最後一定至少有一人被逮捕歸案或一命嗚呼），以這個背景去想我覺得最後一段女主角的告白滿感人的
雖然我一點都不自重 活的有如草芥，我的男人也被你們斜眼鄙視，
但愛著我的只有你，會包容我的也只有你，現在你不在了，該是我為你挺身而出的時候了
（然後拿著槍衝進賭場lol
以下註解提供參考
*old man-一般美國人較隨性稱呼自己父親的方式，但不少美國女性喜歡在relationship中扮演需要被人呵護的小女孩(有一說是童年父親缺席特別容易造成這種影響)，因此稱呼伴侶為daddy，像是中文的...乾爹？這首歌的部分靈感來源為描述中年男子愛上未成年少女的名著《蘿莉塔》(Lolita)，其中一段劇情為男主角在蘿莉塔的母親意外身亡後對外冒充為蘿莉塔的父親帶著她開車四處旅行，因此歌詞應也有影射此處
*cocaine heart-心摻和著古柯鹼，有暗示著她的情人不是自己也有施用成癮物質就是和毒品生意有關的罪犯
*black crystal-被稱為‘水晶香檳’的香檳品種的一支
*Light of my life, Fire of my loins（＋give me them coins）- 出自蘿莉塔的名句，原著中男主角對於他對蘿莉塔所抱有的強烈情感做的自白。而Lolita電影中很經典的一幕是早熟的蘿莉塔發現可以用性來控制男人得到她所想要的後常不是偷就是常以此為由和男主角討要錢，在爭搶中把錢撒得到處都是
*Barcardi Chaser- 並不是指barcardi酒本身，而是用來調和(或在把小杯烈酒一飲而盡後趕快接著喝下去舒緩燒灼感/增添風味)該酒的飲料，稱為chaser。chaser在這裡和下一句的chase連結，可以指酒帶來的醉意抓著她不放，也可以是指她的男朋友因為擔心她跟在她屁股後面到處跑
p.s以蘭姆酒來說通常是配可樂
*Ricker Island-位在紐約Ricker Island的一座大型監獄，因常有暴力事件而惡名昭彰
*Chateau Marmont-位於西洛杉磯Sunset Bvd.的知名飯店，建於1920年代，造型仿造法式城堡，今日已被視為好萊塢的代表之一，受到許多名人影星喜愛
*scarlet-原意「紅色」，但在美國文學中有部相當著名的作品"The Scarlet Letter(紅字)"，描述在保守清教徒社會時期一個已婚婦女和一位牧師發生婚外情後兩人面對社會、良心、宗教等種種的掙扎。在當時通姦者會被要求在胸前佩戴一個紅色的[A]作為恥辱的象徵，歌詞中女主角也許想當的就是如同無法抗拒的禁臠般的情人
*Coney island-位在紐約南端以海灘遊樂園為特色的一座島
*Cipriani's basement-一間同樣位於紐約的知名義式餐廳
